My Mom "drywalled her face." She tripped and fell with her arms full of stuff, and hit her face on the corner of a pile of drywall. She made a dent in the drywall.
The day before my mom hurt her face, I hurt my back. Then I re-hurt it 5 days later, so I called my mom and asked her to help bail us out of dirty laundry and dirty dishes. The kids were all sick; the older ones had to clean up after Annika's vomiting and bloody nose because I couldn't do it. They all had fevers. Lee had to go to work. It was a bad week.
So, we are all healing. It's a long process. I am SO thankful for a living room floor that I can now see, clean clothes to wear, supper that is much more substantial than cold cereal with a side of popcorn, and a dishwasher humming merrily in the background. My mom is amazing! I wish she didn't live five hours away.
I have so much to be thankful for.

Your mama is so pretty, even with a black eye!
ReplyDeleteI had a black eye just like that once. My husband called to say he was on his way home from work. He had worked very late. I was asleep, and tried to get to the phone, tripped over the blankets in the dark and hit a picture frame with my face and slid down the wall. LOL
So sorry you have been sick. There is nothing better than that last wash in the washing machine, even if you know there will be more tomorrow. :)
I agree! My mom is beautiful, inside and out!
DeleteOuch! I hate running into things in the dark!
Laundry is one of those things that is just never done, especially in the snowy months when we have to wear so many layers. I am ready for summer!
I feel your laundry pain! :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad you have help there!! What an amazing Mom you have!! Blessings, Jennifer
