Happy New Year!

What a year it has been. This was the year that we had planned to "take it easy." Instead, God had bigger plans. He sent us Kelton. January 4 will mark Kelton's one year anniversary of his placement here. He has changed so much in one year--and so have we. It has been a year of growing, learning, and changing for all of us. Those things are never easy. But the results are good. We are closer to each other and closer to God than we were last January--and that is all that matters.

I could write about my resolutions to try to organize my house, or try to amplify my homeschooling efforts, or try to implement my exercise plan, but the reality is that those efforts pale in comparison to doing what really matters--helping my kids grow closer to God and closer to each other. If I have days like today, when goat milking takes a long time because Connelly needs a chance to talk during our special time together, and supper burns because we are out there so long, so be it. What is scorched chicken compared to a glimpse of my daughter's heart?

Every day, I get to choose how to use the minutes I am given. My prayer for this year, is that I will use them to bring glory to God as I grow closer to him, and closer to my family. Whatever plans He has in store for us the coming year, whatever people He plans to bring into our lives, whatever triumphs and tragedies He has prepared, I trust Him!
